TRIMMING

It is important to maintain the health of your trees through properly timed pruning.

We trim the tree to help it flourish now and 25 years from now. We seek to shape a balanced canopy and have adequate lateral limbs to provide structure and spacing throughout the tree so that the weight is evenly distributed to prevent limb damage and possible collapse.

We trim all types of trees, including palms. We provide services for structural pruning, crown cleaning, clearance for power lines, structures, driveways and also storm preventative pruning.

stump cutting

We take the stump approximately a foot below grade and make it look like a tree was never there.

We can completely remove that stump so that you can proceed with plans for your yard and home. We grind approximately one foot below grade and take out the root ball, which is essentially the brain of the tree. This kills the tree and makes sure that it won’t come back. It also paves the way for you to be able to plant new trees or shrubbery within the same vicinity because the old root system is dead and will be reincorporated into the soil. Before stump cutting, we always have the area “blue staked”, which means that we have the city come out to mark underground utilities like gas, water, and internet to make sure that we don’t cause more problems in the course of our work.

removal

We can remove any and all species of tree, big or small.

A tree is a candidate for removal when it’s the wrong tree for the wrong space. Maybe it has become too big for the location it was planted in. Maybe it is simply the wrong species of tree for the situation. Sometimes, invasive roots, like those of the sissoo tree, can cause all kinds of other problems. In any case, we use rigging operations and designated safety equipment to lower each limb of the tree in a safe and controlled fashion all the way to the ground to prevent damage to surrounding structures or to any individuals.

planting

The right tree in the right place is a beautiful addition to nearly any outdoor space.

Planting is the perfect way to upgrade your current landscape, add shade for a part of your yard where it doesn’t currently exist, or be able to head out into your yard to pick fresh citrus. We’ll help you select the tree by giving you options and education you on the life, maintenance, and nature of the trees and then allow you to decide. All of our trees are hand planted at 24 box and smaller (which is usually about 10 feet tall or less). We prefer this planting method because these trees are younger, so they are more likely to adapt to the transplant shock and it gives you the chance to care for them the right way from the start.

FAQs

  • We offer free estimates.

You don’t have to be home for an estimate. We only ask that you provide access to the tree by unlocking gates and securing pets inside prior to our arrival. We will email your free estimate within 24 hours.

  • Typically, you do not have to be home. We ask that you turn off irrigation within our work zone, provide access to area by having gates unlocked, and secure pets indoors.

However, you must be home if we are working in close proximity to power lines. These power lines must be disconnected with your approval to the power company to prevent electrocution of our workers. We hope you understand the importance of this. Your free estimate will have more details if this applies to your job.

  • Water your trees more than you normally would in order to compensate for the loss of foliage and stored nutrients within your tree.

  • We stump cut approximately one foot below grade. This makes it look like a tree was never there. Additionally, stump cutting allows you to plant close to where your old tree was with better success of a healthy new plant.

  • When possible, we gift the large sized lumber to wood workers. We convert medium size lumber into firewood. Small debris is turned into mulch that we donate to a local nursery.

  • You can pay via credit card through the invoice we email to you. We do not apply a service fee for credit card payments.
